UPDATE:

MEMORIAL DAY 5/31/10

We need immediate help.........35 Mules and horses were brought to our barn . They were discovered by the Humane Association and the owner was given one week to move them where they would be fed.  This makes a total of over 70 animals we have taken in .

Tim and Brenda can no longer continue with their efforts without help '

Here are just some of the Mules & Horses that were brought in Monday (Memorial Day)

Tim and Brenda Hendrix have renovated Hershel Talley's famous Training Stables.

They are devoted lovers of Horses and their goal is to offer a wonderful place for boarding, riding, rescuing and adopting
"Hungry and Hurting Horses"!

Becky Beacham has asked that in lieu of flowers  donations be made to

our rescue stables in Memory of her precious Daughter,

Kaye Beacham Baggerly

She felt  that Kaye would not want dying flowers on her grave

but help to save horses which she loved so very much.

UPDATE

4/8/2010

We had shared with Becky that the donations in Kaye's memory  would be used to save our next rescued filly and she would be named "Special Kaye".

Only a few weeks before Kaye died we accepted four seized horses from The Jackson Co. Sheriff's Dept.

One of those horses was a mare whose year old stud was still nursing on her.

We discovered last Thursday that she was also in foal and yesterday (4/7/10) she delivered a little filly.

We were amazed that she was born alive given the fact that the mare was starved and still nursing a yearling and in foal.

We immediately called our Vet. (Dr. Wilks with Westside Vet Clinic in Arab and he also came to our "rescue" to help us save the colt.

He indicated to us that he was  amazed that  the mare & colt were still alive.....

We are sure that this filly should be named "Special kaye"....the donations that have been made in memory of Kaye will be used for this Mare and Filly.

Becky says that Kaye is "smiling down on her right now"

here at the  photos of "Little Special Kaye"

4/16/2010 Update

Special kaye and her Mom are still thin and weak but improving daily.'

Mothers Day Update

Special kaye  and her mother (rescued Brood Mare) have been moved to a pasture next to Momma Dot's House.  They are doing great.'

Click here to go to our Face Book Page and see a video of them.'

I am asking friends and  Lovers of Horses to consider joining us in helping Tim and Brenda with their Rescue efforts!

If each of us only donated a dollar or five dollars a month it would provide them with funds to buy feed, hay , pay their veterinarians, etc.

 Elmer (retired Rodeo Star)!

Precious (TWH mare)

Casper (has Blue Eyes & lame front leg)!

Casper Died with lung problems last Fall

Peanut (Had broken back ankles) Died this winter

Bo (Bowlegged grey gelding)

Thank you Tim & Brenda for saving them!

Another rescued horse.

In May the Jackson Co. Sheriffs Department seized this two year old stud  that was abandoned.

He was shot with a tranquilizer gun in order to catch him.

He was not only thin and in shock and also had a punctured eye.

This 18 year old gelding was owned his entire life by an elderly gentleman who recently had a stroke and was unable to continue taking care of his horse.  Tim and Brenda adopted him and promised to take care of him for his owner the rest of his life!  This young fellow enjoyed his very first horse ride on him.

Sept. 9 ,2009- This little filly was found in the pasture in this shape! She had 4 huge bite marks on her. Brenda took her in and is trying to save her life.

Even though she has massive wounds, she is still eating (probably has never had grain before)!

Update 4/5/2010………She is doing great

Nov. 7,2009 This is Mr. Lucky.  Sue Jones with the Cullman Animal Welfare contacted us and brought him to our barn Saturday.  They had to lift him up to eat the next morning!

He was rescued out of  a paddock with no grass, feed or water.  The other horses in the paddock had died.  They also had 31 starving pit bull dogs!

UPDATE

Mr. Lucky was adopted by a local gentleman who gave him to his Father who had just buried his wife.  He is now living in a newly built barn of his own.'

Adopted Donkey……He was not underfed....but did have hooves that had never been trimmed

March 2010

We have now received 4 seized horses from Jackson County.  One is having to be put down by the sheriff's office but the others are doing good.

Sept.9,2009-

This is an aged gelding that we have adopted, he is kid broke! I couldn't get him to hold his head up to take a picture, he was too thrilled to have something to eat!

11/12/09 update-  Even though Brenda did all she possibly could he died three weeks later.
